Dr. Ruwanthi Campano M.D. grew up on the East Coast, where she graduated from Notre Dame Preparatory School in Towson, MD as class valedictorian in 1987. She then went to Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster PA, graduating with a double major in Biology and French in 1991. Dr. Campano lived in Nantes, France for 8 months during her junior year abroad, where she acquired fluency in the French language.
Dr. Campano then went on to a Masterās of Science degree at the University of Maryland in Anatomy, finishing with a 4.0 G.P.A. in 1993. There she taught anatomy to the Shock Trauma nurses at the Adamās Cauley Shock Trauma Center. Medical school was her next endeavor at the University of Maryland, where she excelled. In addition, Dr. Campano published several papers during her research periods.
Dr. Campano then made the move to the West Coast in 1997. She lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for eight years. Dr. Campano spent time in general surgery, with an internship at U.C. Davis, East Bay. A residency in otorhinolaryngology, head and neck surgery at Kaiser Permanente was the final step to her extensive training. Award-winning research projects such as three consecutive awards at the annual Bay Area Residentās Research Symposium were some of her numerous accomplishments.
Dr. Campano completed her chief residency and then worked for Kaiser Permanente as a member of the Department of Head and Neck Surgery in San Francisco, where she helped train residents in surgery. She became board-certified in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 2003.
Moving to Southern California, Dr. Campano worked in Ridgecrest for a multi-specialty group before finally settling in Palmdale, CA. Dr. Campano started her own practice in Lancaster, CA in 2005. Dr. Campanoās expertise includes all aspects of otorhinolaryngology including snoring treatment such as the Pillar Implant, complex ear surgery and both simple and complicated ear infections, sinus surgery and allergy treatment, voice disorders, and hearing loss and balance disorders. Dr. Campano is a local expert in thyroid and parathyroid surgery.
In addition, she takes care of cancers of the head and neck including thyroid cancer, and salivary gland tumors. Extensive skin cancers are also referred to Dr. Campano if they require complex reconstruction.
Expertise in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery includes both invasive and minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Campano performs invasive surgeries such as facelifts, rhinoplasty (ānose jobā), blepharoplasty (āeyeliftā), browlift, otoplasty, and so much more.
Minimally invasive procedures include SmartLipo liposuction for all body areas, the Smart NeckLift, Botox, fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm, Thermage, and laser treatments. Dr. Campano offers a vision of beauty from a womanās perspective.
Dr. Campano lives and works in the Antelope Valley, which is different from many physicians who come to this area. Because she is local, she is easily accessible to her patients. Dr. Campano also has privileges at both local hospitals and at several surgery centers in the Antelope Valley. She performs surgery in locations where M.D. anesthesiologists work with her to ensure the safety of her patients.
Dr. Campano has three practice locations. The main office is located in Palmdale, CA. She and her husband built this location, the Campano building, in 2015. It is located just East of the Freeway 14 and Avenue N. Dr. Campano also has satellite offices in both Ridgecrest and Valencia, CA.
Dr. Campano is married to Angelo Campano, a successful attorney who owns The Campano Law Group, also in the Campano building. He specializes in litigation, both personal injury, and employment law. Together, they are actively involved in civic and charitable organizations, both in the Antelope Valley as well as in Los Angeles. They spend their free time running after their twin daughters and their large fluffy rescue dogs.
