Chemical peels are helpful for wrinkles, light acne scarring and irregular pigmentation such as freckles and age spots. Pre-cancerous conditions such as keratoses (thick, rough, reddish growths) also respond well to this procedure.
There Are Several Types Of Chemical Peels:
- Light peels to remove superficial wrinkles
- Medium Peels
- Deep peels for more severe conditions
After thoroughly cleansing the skin, a small applicator is used to apply the chemical solution to an area of the face. Excess solution is removed and the procedure is repeated in other areas. The amount of improvement varies and depends upon the initial condition of the patientās skin. Significant improvement of damaged skin has been achieved, which can produce dramatic results.
Skin Rejuvenation
A skin rejuvenation program is often used in conjunction with either chemical peels or laser wrinkle removal to reduce the fine wrinkles of the face, lighten areas of hyperpigmentation and produce a softer texture to the skin. The program can be accomplished separately or in conjunction with the other procedures listed here and is followed at home by the patient after a consultation and a treatment plan is established for the patientās cosmetic needs. Our skin care department is dedicated to providing you with the latest and most effective skin treatments available. We invite you to inquire about laser skin resurfacing and hope it can help you achieve smoother, fresher younger-looking skin.

Microdermabrasion & Light Peels
Microdermabrasion and light chemical peels gently exfoliate the dead outer skin (epidermis) layer, producing fresh young skin cells and collagen resulting in softer and smoother skin. The procedures take 30 to 60 minutes and there is no downtime. Treatments are recommended every 2 to 4 weeks. A series of 4 to 8 treatments are recommended. Optimal results are seen after 8 to 12 weeks of treatment.
Light peels performed under medical supervision are safer, more concentrated, resulting in significantly deeper penetration of the fruit acid with far superior results than those found in conventional day spas and salons.
Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is ideal for people with sensitive skin. Micro-crystals delivered and suctioned through a delicate hand piece polish the outer skin. Treatments are frequently combined with a relaxing facial and or masque for optimal results.
Glycolic Peel
Glycolic acid, a natural byproduct of sugar cane, is the most potent of the alpha hydroxy acids. A Glycolic acid peel, a type of light peel, exfoliates the dead outer skin layer restoring a more youthful appearance to the skin. This non-surgical treatment is ideal for people with fine lines, age spots, and sun damaged skin. Treatments are frequently combined with a relaxing facial and or masque for optimal results. There is no downtime.
TCA Peel
Dramatically reduces deeper wrinkles, age spots, acne scars, and skin discoloration. For optimal results, the skin is pre-treated with 4 light peels over a 4-week period. Two Copper facials performed two and four weeks after the TCA peel further optimize the results and healing process. The TCA peel procedure takes 15 minutes, results in mild to moderate discomfort. No anesthesia is needed. For some patients, pre-medication with Valium and or Codeine along with topical anesthesia creams further eliminates most of the discomfort. A 3 to 5-day downtime is expected.
